1st stay after dropping to Titanium this year. My last stay as Ambassador was at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott and was very good – my review is elsewhere in the group.

I’m staying tonight, on short notice, at the New York Marriott At The Brooklyn Bridge – just about 11 months to the day that I stayed here as Ambassador. I booked the room this afternoon, using a corporate rate that has a nightly rate of about $330/night for a “standard” King room.

I checked in on the app right after booking the room, packed my bag and drove in from a couple hours away. Check in went great and the FDA was very friendly. I was thanked for being Titanium, informed that I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite and was given 2 bottles of water. That was nice, I wasn’t really expecting an upgrade but hey #suiteupgrades.

The upgrade is to a corner room on the 7th/top floor in the shorter side of the building. It’s a very large room, and a Fantastic upgrade. It’s 1 of 2 of these suites on the floor of 60 rooms. I didn’t ask for an upgrade and looking at the app while posting this, the price of this room is about twice the price of the room I booked a couple hours ago. The room doesn’t really have a view except of other buildings and windows — but I mean, it’s the city and the 7th floor. No complaints here.

The last time I was here 11 months ago for 1 night, I stayed using the same corp rate and had a nightly cost about $50 cheaper. At that time I was upgraded to a much higher floor with a view of the water and the Brooklyn Bridge. The room had fantastic views, but wasn’t much of a room category upgrade. It was a King room with a large L Couch and small table, but no where the size of the room I have tonight.

I did take a look at the gym, it’s well equipped. The hot tub is open as is the 4 lane lap pool. I was shocked, that they had a lifeguard on duty at 8:30pm. I can’t remember the last time I saw a lifeguard at a hotel pool. He was VERY bored!

I had a burger with sweet potato fries at the bar – I wouldn’t get the burger again. The apple/pomegranate bread pudding 100% made up for the weak burger.

So far #TitaniumStatusIsNice but I think if you’re looking for a high floor upgrade with the great views, in my personal experience, #ambassadorstatusmatters here.
