We weren’t expecting to be invited to the hotels Grand Opening Party last night, but we were 😊. We booked a night at the hotel because we had an early, 12 hour non-stop flight to Oah’u Hawai’i.

The Marriott New York JFK Airport and the Residence Inn by Marriott New York JFK Airport are new hotels that share a common lot close to John F. Kennedy Airport in Queen’s NY. Originally scheduled to open in 2020, the Residence Inn opened in Nov 2023, and the Marriott opening earlier this year.

We stayed at the Residence Inn last December and we stayed at the Marriott last night. I’ve stayed here a couple other times also both before. These are 2 fantastic hotels really close to JFK.

We arrived around 5pm yesterday and the hotel was buzzing! We weren’t sure what it was, but at check in we were told it was a party in celebration of the grand opening of both hotels and as Marriott Ambassador member, we were invited to the evenings festivities.

What a great night it was. The food was delicious, the drinks flowing, live music, giveaways and more. We got to meet some of the staff at the hotel and made some connections from future stays.

Now we’re off to Waikiki for 13 nights at the Sheraton Waikiki in celebration of our 30th anniversary 😊
