Our last trip this year, started with a work stay in Miami (closed out with my other recent posts from Celebration & JFK). Sometimes my corporate rate hits the price range where I can stay on South Beach at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, a Tribute Portfolio Resort.
I was in Miami for work with MaureenTravels joining me, and the Royal Palm is a favorite location of ours. It is a “resort” property, so is excluded from some benefits like late checkout, but Ambassador recognition is very good here, with consistent upgrades and there is a good included buffet breakfast. A $33/daily resort fee is in effect – unless you have access to a corporate rate that waives it
Parking is valet only at $50/day.
Due to project changes, I ended up with a 1 night, followed by a 3 night reservation. I applied my last remaining SNA to the 1 night and it was approved from my base corporate rate, King Room to a Jr Suite, Corner King with 2 balconies.
During check in with the Front Desk Agent, I was able to combine both reservations and remain in a King, Jr Suite with 2 balconies. The FDA and manager on duty did have to move the room from the top, 17th floor for the 1 night with SNA, to the 9th floor (same corner), to keep us in the same room throughout our entire 4 night stay.
This was another very good stay for us here. We’ve never had a bad experience and love the overall vibe we get from this property and its staff. It’s in a great location – within easy walking distance to every restaurant and everything on South Beach. We walked to dinner one night at the Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine, and it was fantastic.
During conversation with some of the staff, we learned that the hotel is about to undergo an update/remodel. We can’t wait to see what’s coming up for one of our favorite locations.
In case you’re counting, that’s two of our go-to locations in Florida getting updates next year
