I booked using my corporate rate for an entry-level city view King room:
- Night 2 (Room 2506): Upgraded to Room 2506, a King room directly overlooking Biscayne Bay, the Venetian Causeway, and the bustling cruise ship terminal. I am always treated exceptionally well here with room upgrades, and this stay was no different.
- Night 5 (Room 3110): After pivoting back from South Beach, I was upgraded to Room 3110—a top-floor King room on the 31st floor offering an even higher panoramic vantage point across the bay.
Dining & Bar Operations: Gold Coast Kitchen + Cocktails
I ate at the Gold Coast Restaurant & Bar on site. The menu has changed slightly, and while compact, offers balanced options for any traveler.
Bartenders Isaac and Kris behind the bar are true professionals at crafting drinks—they know exactly how a cocktail shaker is supposed to be used. Their recommendations and quick service set a benchmark for hotel lobby bars.
M Club Operational Deep-Dive & Access Integrity
During my July stay, the hotel debuted new color-coded Elite Member room keys indicating guest allowance right on the card face.
It should be crystal clear to anyone using the club how many guests they can bring in. And YES—at this M Club, Fanny, the dedicated M Club attendant, personally greets members and verifies their name and room numbers against her roster of authorized guests. This list directly defines the quantity of food prepared for breakfast and evening presentations, ensuring high quality and avoiding mid-service food shortages.
- Food Presentations: Evening hors d’oeuvres vary from night to night. When the Club is staffed, guests can also order directly from the main restaurant menu, including cocktails. (The club also offers select beer and wine for a fee).
- Hydration & Coffee Hardware: Two premium coffee machines, including a dedicated Starbucks bean-to-cup unit, plus a touch-screen dispenser providing flat, sparkling, and ambient chilled water. The beverage refrigeration is stocked with an excellent selection of soft drinks and Bubly sparkling water.
- Hours & Access: The M Club is accessible 24 hours a day for coffee, tea, and beverages. Due to past abuse, grab-and-go food snacks are secured overnight, but full hospitality resumes promptly at breakfast.
Fanny’s consistent hospitality throughout the morning and evening services makes this one of the best-run M Clubs in the entire domestic Marriott portfolio.
