“Just checked in to the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa and see that we’ve been upgraded to Signature View Casita.
I spent months checking rates earlier this year, and scored a 94,000 point 2 night stay in a base King Casita. This is another great, pre-arrival upgrade.
It’s our 1st time staying here, we’ll be here for 2 nights before we head back to the cold of the northeast.
Yes, I’m going to ask at check in if any of the private pool suites are available. I do feel I’m killing the spend this year (over 30K already), and it IS a Marriott owned hotel, so what better place to ask?
I don’t know why all my reservations that get upgraded, get changed to 4 guests 😕”

2. Casita #287: Across from the Jackrabbit Pool
“Update to add photos of the room after check in. No pool suites were available, but our room is so close to the Jackrabbit pool, that it hardly matters.
Our room is a fantastic upgrade, well appointed inside and plenty of Space, has shade at the rear, is a very short walk to the spa and is literally across from the entrance to the Jackrabbit pool. I mean, walk outside our door, go across the ‘street’ and walk into the Jackrabbit pool entrance.”
The casita featured:
- Generous King bed with classic adobe Southwestern interior design and exposed viga ceiling beams.
- Dedicated wet bar and mini kitchen area with microwave, refrigerator, and coffee setup.
- Expansive bathroom with dual granite vanities, deep soaking tub, glassed walk-in shower, and walk-in closet with waffle robes.
- Shaded private patio with comfortable armchairs looking out toward Mummy Mountain.
3. Jackrabbit Pool & The Spa at Camelback Inn
The location of Casita #287 could not have been better. Rather than needing a golf cart ride across the 125-acre grounds, we literally walked out our front door, crossed the quiet path, and stepped directly into the Jackrabbit Pool gate.
A gentle walk in one direction led straight to the Spa at Camelback Inn and adjacent desert hiking trails, while a short walk in the other direction led to the central gardens, tennis courts, and main dining terraces.
4. Dining & Breakfast at Rita’s Cantina
”:-( heading home. We like it here, and especially enjoyed our last 2 nights at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa.
Our upgraded room was fantastic, a large king room with a mini kitchen, giant bathroom, dining table and an outdoor deck that was shaded most of the day.
The location of our Casita was great too - literally across the street to the Jackrabbit Pool & pool bar (the pool bar/restaurant were being renovated). A short walk in one direction to the spa and hiking trails, the other direction to the gardens, courts, restaurants and common areas.
We had a great breakfast buffet both days, enjoyed some Margaritas during happy hours and ate all our meals at Rita’s Cantina.
We definitely need to go back for more than 2 nights 😁”
