In elite traveler forums and loyalty groups, an artificial divide is often drawn between leisure travelers who pay out of personal savings and corporate road warriors whose travel is company- or client-reimbursed. We believe this distinction is fundamentally flawed:
- Full-Rate Revenue to the Hotel: Whether a stay is booked on a corporate rate, reimbursed through client project travel, or funded from personal vacation savings, the hotel receives full payment. Reservations pass through standard allocation algorithms, guests check in through standard queues, and every folio charge must be settled.
- The True Reality of Being Away From Home: A traveler living out of a suitcase for 100+ nights a year experiences hotel operations far more thoroughly than an occasional leisure guest. When an engineer or executive is traveling for work, hotel reliability—quiet HVAC for sleep, solid desk ergonomics, dependable high-speed Wi-Fi, and correct billing—directly impacts their livelihood. In fact, work travel demands a far higher operational standard than casual vacationing.
